Introduction
The Evaluation designer allows you to manage your evaluation processes and questionnaires. It offers you a way to think about evaluation in a global manner and not only at questionnaire level. The Evaluation designer is available for Superadmins.
For your convenience, we have created standard ready-to-use questionnaires. But you can customize questionnaires and build them from scratch. From the Evaluation questionnaire sub-menu, go to the Questionnaires tab to create or edit a questionnaire. Questionnaires can also be edited from the Timeline page.
This article will explain how you can create and customize questionnaires.
Managing the questionnaire parts
A questionnaire is composed of one or several parts. You can add a part, rename a part or delete a part.
To access these options, enable a questionnaire on the Timeline page. Then, click on the ellipsis menu in the questionnaire section and select Edit questionnaire. You will land on the Builder tab displaying the parts of your questionnaire and the questions included in each part.
Adding a new part
Follow these steps to add a new part:
- From the left side of the Builder page, click on Add part
- In the right panel, enter the name of the part
- Click on Create.
The newly created part will appear on the left side of the page. You can reorder all parts according to your needs.
The new part does not contain any questions yet. To add questions to a part, click on Add new question or Select from Question library. More information on how to use the Question library in the corresponding article.
Renaming a part
To rename a part, click on the part name on the left side of the page. Enter or edit the name and click on Save changes.
Deleting a part
To delete a part, click on the part name on the left side of the page. Then click on Delete part and save your changes.
Please note! When you edit any questionnaire from the Evaluation designer, the updated questionnaire will only apply to the users you later enroll in the course where the edited questionnaire is used. Users who were previously enrolled in the course will see the initial version of the questionnaire.
Creating and managing questions
The questions you can add to your questionnaire belong to one of the following categories:
- Suggested questions: These are the questions that we provide for your convenience. We recommend using them in your questionnaires but this is not mandatory. You can edit the question labels only but you cannot change the answers or the question type.
- Suggested questions (edited): These are the questions for which you have edited the question label
- Questions created by you: These are the questions you have created from scratch
Please note! When editing a suggested question, we recommend limiting your changes as much as possible. Important changes may lower the accuracy of the reports.
Creating a new question from scratch
When you add a new question, it will be labeled as Questions created by you. You can fully customize the questions you create:
- Add a question label
- Select a question type
- Add the answers to the question
- Choose to make the question mandatory
Click on Save changes when you are done. Once a question is created, it will appear on the left side of the page. The created question will also be added to the Question library and available for you to use in other questionnaires.
Please note! Depending on the type of question you are adding, some details may vary.
Selecting a question from the Question library
When selecting a question from the Question library, a right panel will open. Select a question and click on Confirm.
Questions from the Question library can be customized to different extents depending on the question category.
Deleting a question
Click on the question label on the left side of the page. Then click on Delete question. Remember to save the changes to your questionnaire to implement your modifications.
Creating questionnaires from scratch
From the Evaluation designer page, go to the Questionnaires tab. Then, click on Create new questionnaire in the top right corner of the page.
In the right panel, enter the title of the questionnaire, choose a questionnaire type and click on Create and edit.
The following questionnaire types are available:
- Learner initial
- Learner follow-up
- Manager follow-up
- Instructor initial

Tip! Customize your questionnaire as explained in the above chapters. Please note that a questionnaire must include at least one question, you will not be able to save an empty questionnaire.
Selecting a custom questionnaire in your evaluation processes
When enabling evaluation for a course, you can either use the standard questionnaires or replace them by one of the questionnaires you have created or customized. The Instructor-Led Training (ILT) standard questionnaire is only available for ILT courses and the e-learning standard questionnaire is only available for e-learning courses. All the custom questionnaires that you have created are available for both e-learning and ILT courses.
