Introduction
The Evaluation designer allows you to create questions in multiple languages.
Questions belong to one of three categories and each category has specificities regarding translation.
- Suggested questions
- Suggested questions edited by you
- Questions created by you
This article explains how you can create questions in multiple languages for each category of questions.

Translation of suggested questions
The suggested questions are already translated in all of the supported languages. The Translate fields toggle is enabled by default, and you cannot disable it.
Translation of suggested questions edited by you
When you edit the question label of a suggested question, the translation in languages other than your default language will still show the original translation of the suggested question (the question as it appears before you edit it).
You can keep the translation as it is or modify it if needed. Open the drop-down menu in the top-right corner of the Builder page, select a language, and edit the translation of the question label as needed.
Translation of questions created by you
The translations of the questions you create from scratch are not provided and you need to add them manually for each selected language. Open the drop-down menu in the top-right corner of the Builder page, select a language and enter the translations. Remember that this question category allows you to customize both the questions and the answers.
If you enable a language but do not add the translation of a question you have created, then the question will be displayed to the respondent in your default language.
Questions you have set as mandatory will be optional for the respondents when a translation is not available and the question is not displayed in the user’s selected language.
Best practice. When you create or edit a question in any available language, always make sure to complete both the question and answer labels in English. This ensures consistency and proper functionality in multilingual environments.
