Introduction
In your platform, you can quickly and easily check course progress and statistics as a Superadmin, Instructor, or Power User (if given permission from the Superadmin). This article outlines how to access and manage the course report.
To access a course report, log in as a Superadmin, Instructor, or Power User. Then, press the Menu item in the left sidebar and select the My courses and learning plans item from the slide-out menu and select a course. Once you're on the course page, click on Managed on the top right corner of the page, then select the Reports item.
You can also access the Course Report from the Course management area, by selecting a course and moving to the Reports tab.
Power user permissions for the course report
Power Users with only Courses / View permission can access the Reports tab (for their assigned courses) and within it access the User statistics and Training material statistics areas. To access Learner assignments requires adding the Courses / Evaluation permission.
- Within User statistics, Power Users will see listed only their assigned users. They can click on any username to view that user’s course report, including their training material progress, in read-only mode.
- Within Training material statistics, Power Users can click an assignment to check their user’s scores and statuses, in read-only mode.
- Within Learner assignments, Power Users will see listed only assignments submitted by their assigned users and can view the assignment scores and statuses in read-only mode.
Note: With the addition of Reports / Edit, a Power User can also edit a user’s training material progress in the User statistics area, and evaluate assignments from Training material statistics or from the Learner assignments area.
Summary of required permissions:
To edit training material progress (from User statistics): Courses / View, Reports / Edit
To evaluate learner assignments (from Training material statistics): Courses / View, Reports / Edit
To evaluate learner assignments (from Learner assignments area): Courses / View, Courses / Evaluation, Reports / Edit
General statistics
Once you've reached the course report, you will see several statistics at the top of the page:
- The total number of enrolled users. If the Allow Power Users to see the real number of enrolled users and their attendance in the course properties option is enabled in the platform Advanced settings, Power Users will see the real number of enrolled users. If the option is disabled, the number displayed takes into consideration only the users they manage as resources.
- The number of users who have completed the course, are still in progress or have yet to begin the course
- The number of days since the course's launch.
- The number of training materials in the course.
User statistics tab
The User statistics tab shows by default the list of the users currently enrolled in the course (Active enrollments). Use the Enrollment status dropdown at the top of the list to switch to the archived enrollments, by selecting the corresponding option.
On the top of the list:
- Use the Export dropdown menu to export a list of the enrolled users in CSV or Excel format
- Search for a specific user in the course using the text search area
- Select the columns that you wish to see in the report by clicking on the table button after the text search area. The export of the report will reflect the selected columns. Please note that the username column cannot be hidden and is always selected.
Active enrollments
When checking active enrollments, the following details are available:
- Username: The username of the user enrolled in the course, this column is always shown and cannot be hidden.
- First name: User's first name.
- Last name: User's last name.
- Enrollment date: The date when the user enrolled in the course.
- First access date: Date and time that the user first accessed the course.
- Completion date: Date and time when the user completed the course.
- Last access date: Date and time when the user last accessed the course.
- Progress: The user's progress in the course, in percentage.
- Training material time: The total time spent by the learner on the training materials composing the course (both on desktop and mobile) since the first time they accessed the course after their enrollment. The total time is recalculated every day at 0:00 UTC time. Please note that the time is calculated on the actual time the user spends in the course, removing breaks caused by inactivity also due to pop-up blockers and tab closing.
-
Session time: For Instructor-Led Training (ILT) courses, the total time the user has been marked as present in sessions (both online and onsite) by a Superadmin, a Power User with granted permission, or an instructor.
- When using Adobe Connect Version 2 for online events, the session time is tracked as the exact time spent in the videoconference tool. Learn more about attendance.
- If the ILT course includes SCORM training material, the session time is recalculated every five minutes. However, if the user does not properly close the SCORM page by clicking X, Exit, or Submit, the session will stop updating after eight hours. In such cases, eight hours will be logged as the session time. The Training material time is calculated when the user clicks X, Exit or Submit instead.
- Status: The user's current status in the course. Possible values are: Not Yet Started, In Progress, or Completed.
- Score: The course score calculated on the basis of tests, assignments, or any other training material associated with a score. The details about the score associated with every training material included in the course are available in the user summary report, which you can access by clicking on the username in the user's row. The score is calculated according to the settings defined in the course properties, Score & Credits tab.
Click the username in the user’s row to view the course report. The report includes a graph showing when the user accessed the training materials, a timeline of course completion, and a Progress section listing all training materials in the course. For each training material, the report shows the title, first and last attempt, first and last completion date, version, status, reset option, and score.

You can also extrapolate quantitative data by selecting the Training material statistics tab and clicking on the SCORM training material that you would like to analyze (see the related section above for more information). When you select the Answers breakdown button, the platform will show you how many users provided a specific answer to a specific question. You can export, save, and print this data using the Export dropdown menu in the search bar. Please note that drag-and-drop interactions are not tracked in the answer breakdown, but are available in the User statistics tab when selecting the user and then the training material including the drag-and-drop content.
