Introduction
When you purchase a Docebo Content unlimited plan, the content included is automatically added to your platform’s content marketplace catalog, provided that you have at least once accessed the Docebo Content library. From this catalog, learners can explore and enroll into content from Docebo Content, thus importing it into courses in your platform.
Catalog management page
To manage the Docebo Content catalog, open the Admin menu by clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner of the platform, find the Content marketplace catalogs item, then select Manage.
From the Content Marketplace catalogs page, you can directly publish or unpublish the Docebo Content catalog by activating the checkmark in the corresponding column. You cannot delete the catalog or add new custom catalogs to this page. For custom catalogs, refer to the article Activating and managing catalogs.
To edit the catalog, click on Docebo Content, or click on the Visibility data to access the visibility tab directly. The data in the Properties tab are read-only, but the page’s name and description can be edited as explained in the chapter Configuring the content marketplace catalogs page.
In the bottom bar, you can save your changes, publish or unpublish the catalog, and check when the last edit was made.
Assigning users to the catalog
In the Visibility tab, you can configure which users will be able to see the catalog in learner view. You can do this by assigning user groups, user branches or individual users to the catalog.
The assigned users will then be able to access the catalog in the Content marketplace catalogs built-in page.
→ Make sure the Content marketplace catalogs page is available in the user menu. Learn more about how users navigate the content marketplace catalog.
Assign groups:
To configure the groups assigned to a catalog, in the vertical navigation under Resource type select Groups: The groups currently assigned to the catalog will be listed on the right-hand side.
- You can remove an already assigned group by clicking the trash icon (Unassign) on its row. You can also remove multiple groups at a time by selecting check boxes and then clicking Choose action > Unassign.
- To add more groups, click the ellipsis menu alongside Groups and select Assign groups. In the right panel, select the desired groups and click Assign.
Assign users:
To assign or unassign individual users, in the vertical navigation under Resource type select Users and proceed in a similar fashion to that described for assigning groups.
Assign branches:
To configure branch assignments, in the vertical navigation under Resource type select Branches and proceed in similar fashion to that described for assigning groups.
Please note! A user will have visibility of the catalog if they match at least one of the configured assignments (ie, the user belongs to one of the groups OR belongs to one of the branches OR is individually assigned).
Configuring the content marketplace catalogs page
Users can see their assigned catalogs in the built-in Content marketplace catalogs page. You can edit its name and description as described in the article Introduction to pages and menus. The catalog can also be embedded into widget pages by using the custom content box widget and inserting the page URL.
Make sure that the page is in the menus of users that have visibility on the Content marketplace catalog. Learn how to assign custom menus to users. Note that the Content marketplace catalogs page is not available on mobile.
By default, learners will see the content sorted by most relevant, but they can customize their sorting. Learn more about how users navigate the content marketplace catalog.
Learners who have visibility on the catalog can self-enroll in content. When they do, the content is automatically imported and a new course is created with a generated title, description, and thumbnail.
After the import, the administrator will see:
- The content tile marked as Imported on the Docebo Content admin side
- An increase in the Docebo Content import counter
- The imported content in the central repository
- The newly created course which includes the content in the Course management area.
The management of both the course and the content remains the same as all content imported from Docebo Content.
Please note! When a course is imported through the content marketplace catalog, its default language is automatically set to English in the course management area. If the course is in a different language, you will need to open the course from course management and manually change the default language in the course details.
