Introduction
Insights includes a collection of prebuilt, ready-to-use dashboards, designed to provide comprehensive data visualization and analysis of key platform metrics.
These dashboards offer valuable insights into standard platform features and user behaviors, helping you monitor performance, track trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Featured dashboards cannot be removed nor customized, but you can filter them according to your needs.
Additionally, you can create custom dashboards, as explained in the knowledge base article Creating and managing custom dashboards.
This article is an overview of Insight’s featured dashboards.
Insights is available for Superadmins and Power Users with permissions for Insights.
Accessing the ready-to-use dashboards
To access dashboards, go to the Admin menu from the gear icon in the top right corner of the platform. Find the E-learning section and click on Insights.
Ready-to-use dashboards are listed in the Featured dashboards section, together with the dashboards you have assigned to other users or that have been created and assigned to you by another Superadmin.
To access a dashboard, click on the corresponding card or on the dashboard name if you are in the Table display mode.
Available ready-to-use dashboards
When you access a ready-to-use dashboard, you will see all the included visuals displayed on the page. These dashboards cannot be edited, meaning you cannot add, remove, or modify any visuals. Likewise, ready-to-use dashboards cannot be deleted.
However, a number of filtering options are available. The filters depend on the type of dashboard.
The following ready-to-use dashboards are available:
- Certifications: Shows a general overview of how certifications are distributed within their user base and trends about active, issued, expiring, and expired certifications.
- Communities (only if your plan includes Communities): Gives an overview of the community activities in terms of registrations, active sessions, posts, comments, and upvotes.
- Course enrollments and completions: Displays the overall status of course enrollments and completions on the platform, providing valuable insights into the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
- Instructor-Led Training courses: Shows the overall status of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) courses in the platform to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of ILT programs.
- Learning plans: Shows the overall status of learning plan enrollments, progression, and completions in the platform.
- Tests: Tracks and analyzes test completion data, pass rates, and response patterns.
- Time spent on learning: Provides key metrics to help you understand how learners engage with courses on the Docebo platform. It includes insights on total time spent, average time spent by learners, average time to course completion, engagement rate, and time spent by branch, group, and course.
- Training materials: Offers a comprehensive overview of course organization by providing detailed insights into training material usage, learner interactions, and performance. With this information, you can assess the effectiveness of training resources, identify trends, and make informed decisions to enhance the learning experience.
- Users: Provides a comprehensive overview of the user activity and engagement on the platform.

Question and answers
Question | Answer |
Why do I see different data in the Time spent on learning Insights dashboard and a custom report including the same field? |
The date filters of the Insights dashboard are based on session times while your custom report filters are based on enrollment dates. |
In the Instructor-Led Training (ILT) dashboard, what is the difference between the visual Number of ILT delivered hours and the visual Number of ILT consumed hours? |
The visual Number of ILT delivered hours includes the number of hours that a particular ILT event lasts. The visual Number of ILT consumed hours includes the number of hours that all the learners enrolled in the event have followed. For example: An ILT event with 10 enrolled learners lasted 8 hours. At the end of the event, 8 hours have been delivered while 8x10=80 hours have been consumed. |
In the Course enrollments and completions dashboard, the total count of courses shown in the First access to completions visual is different from the total count shown in the Enrollments status and Self-enrollments visuals, why? |
The first access to completion visual only takes into account the completed courses that had actual first access. Some completed courses may not be taken into account in this visual if, for example, the course was manually marked as Complete by the administrator. |
When I filter the Users dashboard by group, the number of users displayed does not match the actual number of users in the group. Why? |
The time filter at the top of the dashboard is based on the user registration date and, by default, is set to the last 12 months. As a result, only users from the selected group who registered within the past year are displayed. If you need a complete user list, set the dashboard Registration date filter to Any dates. |
