Introduction

Insights allows you to collect data and useful information on the activities on your platform. As a Superadmin or a Power User with Insights permissions, you can benefit from a number of ready-to-use dashboards but also build and customize your own dashboards according to your needs. 

You can also assign dashboards to Power Users and other Superadmins. This article outlines the steps to assign a dashboard.

Featured dashboards 

The Insights main page displays all the available dashboards divided into two categories: 

• Featured dashboards: includes the ready-to-use dashboards, the dashboards you have assigned to other users or that have been created and assigned to you by another Superadmin. 
• My dashboards: includes the dashboards that you have created yourself and that you have not assigned to other users. 

Assigning a dashboard

To assign a dashboard to other users, follow these steps: 

Click on the ellipsis menu in the dashboard card and choose Assign. In the right panel, select the users to whom you want to assign the dashboard. You can choose among the following options: 

• Assign the dashboard to all Superadmins: The dashboard will be displayed in the Featured dashboards section of the Superadmins and they will be able to modify it. 
• Assign the dashboard to all Superadmins and all Power Users: The dashboard will be displayed in the Featured dashboards section of all Superadmins and all Power Users who can access Inisghts. Superadmins can modify the dashboard while Power Users can only view it. 
• Assign the dashboard to all Superadmins and a selection of Power Users and Power User profiles. When you select this option, you can assign the dashboard to specific Power Users by typing their name in the corresponding field. You can also assign the dashboard to a Power User profile. All the Power Users assigned to this profile will be able to view the dashboard. You only have to complete one of the two fields to be able to proceed with the assignment of the dashboard. The dashboard will be displayed in the Featured dashboards section and only Superadmins can modify it. 

After completing your selection, click on Assign. When you assign a dashboard to another user, the dashboard will be moved to your Featured dashboards section on the Insights main page.

Power Users and dashboards

The Power Users assigned to a profile having Insights permissions can access Insights and view all the ready-to-use dashboards as well as the custom dashboards assigned to them according to the following permissions:

• View: Power Users can access all the ready-to-use dashboards as well as the custom dashboards assigned to them.

• Create: Power Users can create custom dashboards with access to the entire visual library.

Power Users can only see the data of the resources assigned to them. In addition, dashboards are correctly shown to Power Users only if they have less than 200,000 users assigned.

Warning: For the dashboards using visuals to display user data (including enrollments) organized by groups or branches, if a user belongs to multiple groups or branches, they are counted as many times as their groups or branches of belonging, and the visuals display the data about all groups and branches without being filtered according to the groups and branches Power Users have visibility on. This means that Power Users can get access to information about the groups and branches the users they manage belong to, even if they are not assigned to them. It is recommended not to use visuals in dashboards shared with Power Users if there is a risk of displaying inappropriate groups or branches.
