Introduction
As an option, you can add a voice-over to your Shape, so that the text displayed in the scenes, or an alternative text of your choice, is read by a narrator. You can add the voice-over for the whole Shape, or at scene level, either using an AI-generated voice, uploading an audio file, or recording your voice.
Enter the voice-over management area by clicking on Voice-Over in the top left corner of any scene of your Shape.
AI-Generated Voice
Move to the Generate AI Voice section of the right panel to make the Shape Artificial Intelligence generate the voice-over.
The Voice-Over Text field will be pre-filled with the text from the selected scene. This is the text that will be read by the AI voice. You can edit this text as you like, typing up to 500 characters per scene. If you translate your Shape into different languages, the voice-over text will be automatically translated too. Once you’ve edited the text, click on the checkmark under the text box to save your changes, or on the X icon to cancel them.
Set whether to generate the voice-over for the whole Shape or only for the selected scene.
AI-generated voice-overs are available in Chinese (simplified), Dutch, English, French, French Canadian, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, US Spanish, and Swedish.
Click on Edit Voices in the Languages & Voices area to access the list of the languages in which the Shape has been translated so far. Select the languages for which you wish to generate the voice-over, and choose the narrator voice for every language (where applicable). Click on Choose to go back to the voice-over management panel, and click on Generate to proceed.
Recording or Uploading Your Voice
In order to record your voice, move to the Record Your Voice section of the voice-over panel and click on the microphone button. Keep the button pressed while creating your recording and release it when done.
A pop-up window will open so that you can select the language to which you wish to associate your recording, among those for which the Shape has been translated so far. If a voice-over for the selected language already exists, you will be asked whether to overwrite the existing voice. If needed, you can record your voice again.
In order to upload a file for your voice-over, while in the Record Your Voice section of the right panel, click Upload Voice-Over. In the pop-up window that will open, upload one or more audio files from your device (in mp3, ogg or wav format).
Select the language to which you wish to associate the voice-over for every uploaded file. The available languages are those for which the Shape has been translated so far (except for Bulgarian and Finnish). Click on the trash icon to delete the file.
If you are planning to record or upload a voice-over for the whole Shape, make sure you are creating an audio file for every scene, not a unique file at Shape level.
Managing Voice Overs
All of the AI-generated, recorded and uploaded voice-overs are listed in the Voice Overs section. Click on the Play button to listen to them and on the trash icon at the end of the voice-over row to delete them.
Note on translations: You can upload voice-overs only for the languages in which the Shape has been translated into. If you wish to create a voice-over for a language in which the Shape has not been translated into, first translate the Shape, then create or upload your voice-over.
