Introduction
As an option, you can add a voice-over to your Shape, so that the text displayed in the scenes, or an alternative text of your choice, is read by a narrator. You can add the voice-over for the whole Shape, or at scene level, either using an AI-generated voice, uploading an audio file, or recording your voice.
Enter the voice-over management area by clicking on Voice-Over in the top left corner of any scene of your Shape.
AI-generated voice
Move to the Generate AI Voice section of the right panel to make the Shape Artificial Intelligence generate the voice-over.
The text box will be pre-filled with the text from the selected scene. This is the text that will be read by the AI voice. You can edit this text as you like, typing up to 500 characters per scene. Once you’ve edited the text, click on the checkmark under the text box to save your changes, or on the X icon to cancel them.
Set whether to generate the voice-over for the whole Shape or only for the selected scene, and select the female or male voice. Click on Generate to proceed.
If you have translated your Shape, you can use the drop-down menu at the top of the scene to select a different language, and then follow the same procedure to apply the voice-over to the translated Shape.
Please note! If you have edited the text in the voice-over text box, your changes will not be automatically applied to translations.
AI-generated voice-overs are available in Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Dutch, English, English (Australian), English (UK), French, French (Canada), German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (US), Swedish, and Turkish. If you have translated your Shape into other languages, you can still record or upload your voice-over (see the next chapter for more details).
Recording or uploading your voice
In order to record your voice, move to the Record Your Voice section of the voice-over panel and click on the microphone button. Keep the button pressed while creating your recording and release it when done.
In the pop-up window that opens, you can listen to the recorded voice-over by clicking on the play button in the Preview column. Press Upload to confirm the recording, or Record Again to cancel, then start the recording again.
In order to upload a file for your voice-over, while in the Record Your Voice section of the right panel, click Upload Voice-Over. In the pop-up window that will open, upload one or more audio files from your device (in mp3, ogg or wav format).
You can listen to the uploaded voice-over by clicking on the play button in the Preview column. Click on the trash icon to delete the file or Cancel to cancel the upload. Press Upload to confirm.
If you are planning to record or upload a voice-over for the whole Shape, make sure you are creating an audio file for every scene, not a unique file at Shape level.
If you have translated your Shape, you can use the drop-down menu at the top of the scene to select a different language, and then follow the same procedure to apply the voice-over to the translated Shape.
Managing voice overs
You will find the AI-generated, recorded, or uploaded voice-over in the Voice-Overs section. Click on the Play button to listen to voice-over and on the trash icon at the end of the voice-over row to delete it.
