Introduction
The Creator lesson is a dynamic interactive lesson format designed to help you learn actively. It can include multimedia content, activities, AI role plays and assessments.
Attending a Creator lesson
Access the course and click on the title of the Creator lesson in the Syllabus area. You can identify Creator lessons in the list of lessons by checking the text under the lesson title, which shows the lesson type.
To navigate the lesson you can use the outline on the left side of the page to select the desired screen, or use the Previous screen and Next screen buttons at the bottom. When you have completed the last screen, click Complete lesson to move on to the next lesson or to complete the course, if it is the last one.
The Creator lesson may contain different types of content, such as text, images, videos, and interactive elements. Let’s see how you can interact with each of them.
Completing activities
Activities are questions meant to increase your engagement with the lesson and to check your understanding of specific concepts.
There can be different type of activities:
- Multiple choice: select all the answers that apply
- Single choice: select the only correct answer
- True or false: select the correct option
- Fill in the blank: insert the missing word or phrase
- Matching pairs: drag and drop the items on the right to join them with the correct ones on the left.
After giving your answer, press the Submit button.
Depending on the configuration, there could be a maximum number of attempts and a score for each activity. The attempts left will be visible on the activity card. To see the possible score associated with the activity, you need to complete it first. Activities can be mandatory or optional depending on your administrator’s configuration. If they are mandatory, you will not be able to complete the lesson without completing them.
Using flashcards
Flashcards are short, interactive cards designed to help you review key concepts from the lesson and reinforce your knowledge.
Each flashcard has two sides: one shows a question or a prompt, and the other displays the correct answer or explanation. To flip the flashcards, press the circular arrow button (Flip) at the bottom of each card.
Flashcards are not graded, and you can flip them as many times as you need.
Reading documents
Documents are materials provided in PDF format to support your learning. When you see a document in a Creator lesson, click Read document to open it.
Once inside the document viewer, you can:
- Press the image icon (Show thumbnails) or the list icon (Show outline) to view small previews of each page or to open the document’s table of contents
- Press the minus icon (Zoom out) or the plus icon (Zoom in) to adjust the zoom level or select a zoom option from the dropdown menu in the header
- Press the magnifying glass icon (Search) to find words or phrases within the document
- Press the down arrow icon (Download) to save a copy of the document if allowed by your administrator
- Press the printer icon (Print) to print the document if allowed
- Press the ellipsis icon (Scroll options) to customize the scrolling mode (vertical or horizontal).
Scroll through the pages to read the full content of the document, then press the Back to lesson button at the bottom of the page. Like activities, documents can be mandatory or optional.
Practicing with AI role plays
AI role plays let you practice real-world conversations in a safe, simulated environment. You will interact with a virtual avatar powered by artificial intelligence, either by speaking or by typing in a chat window.
When you start the role play, you’ll see an introduction card showing the scenario title and a short description. The card also displays the number of attempts configured and optionally a time limit for the role play. Click on Start role play to access the role play setup page.
In the setup page, depending on the administrator configuration, you may be able to choose whether to start a voice conversation or a chat simulation. If the video option is enabled, you can choose which camera and microphone you will use. You can optionally switch off the camera but not the microphone in voice role plays.
To start the role play, click on Start the conversation. If both voice and chat modes are available, you can switch to chat by pressing Chat mode.
During the role play:
- Speak to the AI avatar if the role play is in voice mode, or type your messages if it is in chat mode
- The avatar will reply in real time, using a natural, human-like voice or text
- You can restart at any time by using the circular arrow button (Restart) at the bottom of the page
- In voice role plays, you can pause the conversation or switch to chat at any time by using the corresponding buttons at the bottom of the page.
Once you are done with the role play, press the End role play button. After completion, you will receive an AI-generated feedback report that summarizes your performance. Learn more about how reports are generated and structured. If the simulation is too short, the system may not have enough information to generate a complete report.
After completing the role play, you will land on a summary page. If this is your first attempt, click See your report to open the feedback page, or Retake role play to try again immediately.
If you have already completed the role play before, this page also shows a list of your previous reports. Click View report in the row of the report you want to open, or select Retake role play to start a new simulation.
From the summary page, you can also provide feedback on your experience with the role play. In the section Did this role play meet your expectations?, use the thumbs up (Yes) or thumbs down (No) icons to provide positive or negative feedback. If you give negative feedback, you will be able to select a reason for it from the list or to write your own explanation in the pop-up window. This feedback is anonymous and helps Docebo understand how useful or realistic the role play was. Your comments do not affect your score or the AI-generated report.
The report and your conversation recording or transcript are visible only to you and are not shared with your manager or administrator at this time.
If the role play is mandatory, you must complete it before you can finish the lesson.
