Introduction
Assignments are tasks that instructors or administrators ask you to complete, as part of your training path to help you consolidate your learning and apply the concepts and skills you have acquired.
Assignments are considered course lessons and are listed in the course syllabus.
Assignments can be in the form of files, screen recordings, or links to external websites (YouTube and Vimeo).
Once you submit an assignment, the person who assigned it to you will evaluate it and/or provide feedback.
Uploading an assignment
Access the course and click on the title of the assignment in the Course syllabus area. You can identify assignments in the list of lessons by checking the text under the lesson title, which shows the lesson type.
Once you select the assignment, its instructions will be outlined in the course player area. Read them carefully and click on Go to submission area to proceed.
Type the assignment name (mandatory) and optionally a description to provide the instructor with extra details about your work.
Depending on the format of your assignment, you can:
Upload a file
Depending on the assignment settings, you may be able to upload one or more files. Click on Upload a file and select the files from your device, or drag and drop them. Remember that:
- The maximum size per file for every assignment is 40 MB.
- The allowed assignment file types are: 3GP, 3GP2, AVI, BMP, CSV, DOC, DOCX, EPUB, FLV, GIF, ICO, JPEG, JPG, MKV, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPEG4, MPG, MPG2, OGG, OGM, PDF, PNG, PPSX, PPT, PPTX, SRT, TXT, VTT, WMV, XLS, XLSX, ZIP.
The files you uploaded are listed in the Uploaded files area, sorted chronologically (most recently uploaded files first).
If you want to delete any of the files you uploaded, click on the X button at the end of the row of the file. If you want to delete all of the files you have uploaded, click Clear uploaded files.
Link a video from YouTube or Vimeo
Click on Add a link in the Upload options area to submit your assignment by linking a YouTube or a Vimeo video. With this submission option, you can link only one video.
Paste the video link in the Link field. Click on the X button at the end of the link row to clear the field and paste a different link.
Before submitting the assignment, you can change your submission method by clicking the Change submission method button.
When the video is uploaded, it is shown under the Link area, and you can preview it.
Record your screen
Depending on the platform configuration, you may be able to record your screen and submit the recording as your assignment via ScreenPal (opens in a new tab). If this option is available, the Record your screen button is displayed in the Upload Options area.
The screen recording app will be displayed in a pop-up, so make sure that your browser does not block pop-ups from your platform. Learn more on how to manage the screen recording app (opens in a new tab).
If it’s your first time submitting a screen recording, the platform will automatically recognize that you do not have the screen recording app activated on your device and will guide you on its installation. If so, click on Download the screen recorder app!
The plugin will automatically begin downloading on your browser. When the download is over, run the downloaded file to set up the recorder. Once the recorder is up and running, you will not need to refresh the page or login into the platform again, but just click on Record your screen again.
Once the recording is completed, click on Upload.
The recordings you uploaded are listed in the Uploaded Files area, sorted chronologically (most recently uploaded files first). If you want to delete any of the recordings you uploaded, click on the X button at the end of the row of the file. If you want to delete all of the files you have uploaded, click Clear uploaded files.

Submitting an assignment
At any time, before submitting the assignment, you can leave the lesson by clicking Leave assignment in the top right corner of the player. If you leave the assignment, the files you uploaded and the links you added will not be saved, and you’ll have to start over again when you return to the lesson.
When ready, click on Submit assignment.
After you have submitted an assignment, the lesson will be marked as In progress until the instructor or the administrator has evaluated it and given it a passing score. Depending on the assignment settings, you may not be able to progress in the course while the assignment is being evaluated. If so, the Next lesson button is disabled.
When the assignment is evaluated, the assignment page shows your final score. Click on Show assignment details to see the list of uploaded assignments, the instructor comments (if any), and to leave comments in your turn.
If you failed the assignment, you may be able to resubmit it. If so, the Resubmit assignment button is available.
