Introduction
This article explains how to download the Go.Learn mobile app, connect it to your learning platform, and sign in.
When you first open the app, enter the URL of the learning platform that you want to access and your platform credentials.
Depending on your platform configuration, you may also be able to:
- Create an account from the app.
- Reset a forgotten password from the app.
- Change your platform password from the app.
Downloading the mobile app
The Go.Learn mobile app is available for both iOS (including iPads) and Android devices.
To download the app, search for Go.Learn in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
If your organization uses a branded mobile app, your administrator will provide the name of the app to download.
If you use an Android device in China, see Mobile app in China.
Signing in to your mobile app
Sign in to your mobile app
- Open the app.
- If welcome screens appear, select Get started.
- Depending on your configuration, enter the URL of your learning platform in the Platform URL field. This field may be prefilled for you (only for branded mobile app).
- Select Next
- Sign in using the same method that you use on the desktop platform:
- If you use a username and password, enter them and select Sign in.
- If you use single sign-on (SSO), select your identity provider (for example Google Apps, or OpenID Connect.) and complete the sign-in process. If configured by your administrator, this redirect to an SSO provider may happen automatically.
After you sign in, you may be asked to update information, accept the platform Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions, or change your password.
If a new version of the app is available, a dialog box appears when you open the app. Select Update now to open the app store and download the new version. You can continue using the app while the update downloads.
Notes:
- If you see an Access with QR code button, you can use this to automatically enter your platform URL and/or your login credentials. See the chapter Sign in with a QR code to learn how to use this method.
- The URL of your platform and your mobile app are the same. The platform URL is the address that you type in the address bar of your browser to access the platform. If you need help, contact your platform administrator.
- When you sign in with a username and password, the login page includes a Keep me logged in checkbox, which is selected by default. Keep it selected to stay signed in between app sessions, so you can access the app without entering your credentials each time. Clear it if you do not want the app to remember your session. Keep me logged in does not apply to SSO or QR code sign-in. Logging out always ends your session.
- The Go.Learn language is the one you set in the language settings of your device. More information on the language of the app.
Sign in with a QR code
If QR code login is enabled on your platform, the app displays an Access with QR code or Sign in with QR code button on the login page. Depending on configuration, this button is on the screen where you enter your platform URL and/or on the screen where you enter your credentials.
To sign in with a QR code:
- Sign in to the desktop platform.
- Open the My profile page from by clicking on your profile picture in the top-right corner
- Select App QR code.
- On your mobile device, open the Go.Learn app and select Access with QR code or Sign in with QR code. You can also open the device camera.
- Scan the QR code.
- If the QR code does not sign you in automatically, enter your credentials.
Each QR code can be used once and is valid for a limited time. If it expires, select Reload QR code to generate a new one.
Please note: The Keep me logged in option is not supported when logging in via QR code on mobile devices (both iOS and Android). If you use QR code login, you will need to enter your credentials again each time you launch the app. The Keep me logged in feature is available only when logging in with your username and password.
Creating an account via the mobile app
If your administrator enabled self-registration, you can create an account from the app.
- On the login page, select Register.
- Enter the required information.
- Select Register again.
Depending on your platform configuration, you may need to upload documents, select a branch, or accept the platform Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions.
If your platform requires email confirmation, open the confirmation email and select the link. If registration requires administrator approval, wait for approval before signing in. Once your account has been confirmed, you can use the same credentials to log into the desktop platform and the mobile app.
Changing your password
You can change your platform password from the mobile app if your administrator enabled this option.
- Open the menu.
- Select your name or profile picture.
- Select My profile.
- Select Change password.
- Enter your current password and your new password.
- Select Save changes.
Your mobile app password is the same as the password you use on the desktop platform. When you change your password on your mobile device, it will change on the desktop platform as well.
Recovering a forgotten password
You can recover your platform password from the app if your administrator enabled this option.
- On the login page, select Lost password.
- Enter your username or the email address associated with your account.
- Select Send reset link.
- Open the email and follow the instructions.
The reset link is valid for 24 hours. Select Lost password again if the link has expired. You must be able to access the email address associated with your account.
You can only use this method to recover your platform password. If you sign in with SSO, use the password reset procedure of your identity provider.
Password policy and restrictions
The password used in the mobile app is the same password used on the desktop platform. The same password rules and restrictions apply.
Passwords cannot contain:
- Only sequences or repeated characters, such as 12345678, 22222222, or abcdefg.
- Adjacent key patterns, such as qwerty or asdfgh.
- Three or more consecutive repetitions of the same digit or character.
Your administrator may configure additional rules, such as a minimum length, special character requirements, or a dictionary check for common words.
Other aspects of the password policy, such as the allowed number of failed login attempts, are also as configured on the desktop platform.
For more information, see Managing the password policy.
