Introduction
Depending on your platform settings, you may be asked to identify your skills on the basis of your job, and to carry out a self-evaluation on them. Take some time to select your skills and to self-evaluate them, so that your platform will then help you in filling your gaps and deepen your knowledge on the areas you are already familiar with.
Once your profile is associated with one or more skills, if your administrator and manager have activated it, you will be able to access the Skills dashboard from the corresponding entry of the user menu. Contact your administrator and manager for further details.
This dashboard is made up of several sessions. Let’s go through them.
Your job
First off, access your Skills dashboard by opening your main menu and selecting Skills dashboard.
From this section, you can check your job and update it if needed, so that we can recommend some skills in line with your new position. To do so, click on Change job and start typing your job description in the pop-up box that will open. Select one of the available options proposed by the autocomplete function or insert your custom text and and press Save.
When you change your job description, the skills already associated with your profile will not be deleted, but we suggest that you select other relevant skills to foster your growth.
You can associate only one job with your profile.
Your skills
You can manage your skills from the My skills section of the My profile area or from your Skills dashboard. Here, we will illustrate how to manage them from your Skills dashboard. Refer to the dedicated article of the knowledge base to learn how to manage your skills from the My skills section of your profile.
In the Your skills section, you will see the skills suggested to you by your manager, if any, and by the platform’s artificial intelligence based on the job you selected. Click on one of the suggested skills to add it to your profile, then select your current level of competence, and confirm the action by clicking on Add.
If you want to add more skills, click on Add skills on the Skills dashboard page, then select one or more skills among those suggested. You may have the possibility to look for other skills manually, using the search box. Click on Next and self-evaluate yourself on the skills you have selected. When finished, click on Save to complete the process.
Please note! When searching for skills, you need to enter at least three characters to initiate the search. For skills with names shorter than three characters (for example, "C#"), type a space after the skill name.
On the page, you will see the list of skills that you selected, and the level you set during your self-evaluation. If you have received suggestions by your manager to update your current or target level of competence, they will be displayed under the related skill. Refer to the following paragraphs to learn more about target levels.
Click on the ellipsis icon in a skill’s row to view the related options. Click on Update current level to select a different level for the skill. You can also do this by clicking on the current level next to the skill’s name.
Click on Set target level to select a target level for the skill. This is the level that you aim to reach by learning on the platform. Select a level higher than your current level, and click on Confirm. To update or remove your target, click on the corresponding options in the ellipsis menu. You can also update it by clicking on the target level next to the skill’s name. Once you have reached your target level, the skill target will be removed and the skill will be moved to the bottom of the list, where you can find your skills without a target level.
To remove a skill, click on Remove from the ellipsis menu. Please note that if you remove a skill, you will no longer receive updates on the content related to that skill.
Click on View details to open a page with the details related to the skill and check:
- the description of the skill, if available, by clicking on the clipboard icon next to the skill’s name
- your progress on the skill
- the latest updates on the skill (if any—e.g. new content, new manager suggestions)
- how much time you spent in courses associated with the skill in the last 12 months
- the courses and assets associated with the skill you completed over the last year
- the latest and most watched content associated with the skill.
On the skill detail page you can also accept or ignore your manager’s suggestions to update your current or target level on the skill. If you have suggestions, a bar will be displayed at the top of the skill detail page. Click on Update level to accept the suggestions, or Cancel to ignore them.
Click on the book icon in the skill’s row to view the courses and assets associated with that skill on the platform. You will be redirected to the page Available content for the selected skills. Here you can search for content using the search box or the filters.
Please note:
- You can set a maximum of 50 skills on your My skills or Skills dashboard page.
- You can set a target level for up to 10 skills
- You cannot set a target level if you have already reached the maximum level of competence, as the target level must be higher than the current one.
