ILT (Instructor-Led Training) courses can last for more than one day and are organized in sessions, and sessions can be made up of one or more events. Events can be hosted in a classroom (on-site), or they can be held online (via webinar). Please note that the same event can be offered in both the ways, in a classroom and via a webinar.
If an event is hosted on-site, as a learner, you will physically attend it in a classroom at the venue where it is held, with other learners. Even if you will attend these course events live, they are listed in your platform for several reasons, such as providing you with all the necessary information on how to get to the location where the course is held, hosting training material online (that you can use before, during or after the training), tracking your progress.
If an event is held online (web event), you will attend it using a webinar tool. For webinars on mobile, you will access the video conference through a webinar tool directly from your Go.Learn mobile app.
You may see some training materials (such as tests, surveys, slides, etc) associated with the ILT (Instructor-Led Training) course, and they may be made available before and/or after the webinar itself.
The ILT Course Page on Your Go.Learn App
Once you select an ILT (Instructor-Led Training) course from the My Courses and Learning Plans page or the Course Catalog page of your Go.Learn app, you will see the course details in the Overview tab and the list of training materials in the course in the Content tab. To learn more about how to navigate courses from your app, you can read the My Courses & Learning Plans section of this article presenting all of the standard pages that you find on mobile.
If you are already enrolled into an ILT course, you will also see the Sessions tab on the course page, where all the details about the sessions into which you are enrolled are displayed. If you are enrolled into more than one session, a list of the sessions is shown in the tab. Tap on the session of interest to view its details page.
If you have not enrolled yet into an ILT course, if self-enrollment is allowed by your Admin, you can self-enroll into it directly in the app, so you don’t need to go to your platform’s desktop version to do so. After selecting a course (with the Free Enrollment label displayed on its card) from the Course Catalog page of your Go.Learn app, you can view its details in the Overview tab and the list of training materials in the course in the Content tab. Then, you can tap on the Choose Session button at the bottom of the course page to select a session into which you will enroll. Above the button, you will see that the course is for free.
Please note that you cannot purchase courses that are for sale directly in your app. In order to perform this activity, access your learning platform via desktop. However, you can still browse its sessions from the app. To do so, tap on the Browse Sessions button at the bottom of the course page. On the page that opens, you can read some details for each session. Tap on the session item to view all of its details, including the events composing the sessions.
Browsing Sessions’ Details and Events
Once you chose one of the sessions in the list (where title and date are displayed for each session), you will land on the session details page, where you will see every info you need to know: title, description, instructors and the events included in the session. You can switch between the dates in the bar to discover which events are available on each date. When you select a date, all of the events that will take place on that day will be listed below.
According to how your Administrator set up the event, you may find different ways of participating in events:
- You can physically attend the event hosted in a classroom, on-site. All the details about the classroom’s location are found on the Event Details page.
- You will follow the event using a webinar tool, online. All the details about the video conference are found in the Web Event section on the Event Details page.
- You can decide between attending the event in a classroom (on-site) and via a web event (online), according to your needs and preferences, since the same event is offered in both the ways, in a classroom and via a webinar.
Tap on the event you are interested in to open the Event Details page.
Please note: If the classroom location’s or the instructor’s time zone is different from your time zone, you will find an indication of both the location’s or instructor’s time and your local time.
If the event is organized in a classroom and is also virtual, on the details page you will view information about the venue where the event will take place (such as its address, info on the classroom, phone number, email address, and some photos) and also information about the web event. Refer to the Attending Web Events chapter below for complete details on virtual events.
You can interact with the info on the venue directly from your mobile device: if you tap on the venue’s address, your device’s navigation default app will open; if you tap on the classroom name, you will find additional information on the classroom; if you tap on the phone number, you can call it; and if you tap on the email address, your device’s default email provider page will open.
Please note that, if your Admin did not add some of this info to the ILT course, you will not see it in your app.
Enrolling, Unenrolling and Changing Session
Once you have chosen the session you want to enroll into, you just need to tap the Enroll into This Session button at the bottom of the session’s page. If configured by your Admin, you may need to fill in some additional fields to proceed with the enrollment.
Please note that you can self-enroll only into one session from your Go.Learn app. To be enrolled into multiple sessions, your Admin’s action is needed.
If you need to unenroll from the session in which you are currently enrolled and to change session, tap on the Change Session option on the page of the session in which you are enrolled. You will land on a page where you can choose another session. After having read the details of the suggested sessions and made your choice, on the Session Details page that opens tap on Switch to This Session to change the session.
You may also need to unenroll from the session in which you are currently enrolled, without selecting another session. To do so, tap on the Unenroll from This Session option on the page of the session in which you are enrolled. After you have confirmed your action, you will be unenrolled from the session.
If course self-unenrollment is allowed by your Admin, you can self-unenroll from the ILT (Instructor-Led Training) course. In order to do so, tap on the ellipsis icon in the top right corner of the course’s page, then on the Unenroll button at the bottom of the page. You are now unenrolled from the ILT course that you selected.
Attending Web Events
If you are enrolled in a session of an ILT course, and the web event included in the session is about to start, you are informed by your mobile app via a notification. Tap on Join the Webinar to start watching the video conference via the webinar tool’s mobile application.
Starting from the moment when your Admin allows you to access the webinar, you can start attending the web event by tapping on Join the Webinar from the ILT course page or from the Web Event section on the Event Details page (find more info on sessions and events pages in the Browsing Sessions’ Details and Events chapter above).
For upcoming sessions, you will see a countdown in the Web Event section on the Event Details page, so you are always informed on the webinars you will attend.
At the end of the webinar event you joined, in the Web Event section you can find the webinar registration.
Evaluation and Certificate
When the course ends, you may be evaluated by the instructor. This evaluation will be visible in the Personal Performance Evaluation section of the Sessions tab of the ILT course, where you may see your score, a feedback and a file left by the instructor during the evaluation. Remember that you’ll see these fields only if configured by your Admin and your instructor.
When you complete the whole course, you can also obtain a certificate. Further details about certificates in the Go.Learn app (in the My Courses & Learning Plans section of the article).
