Introduction
Playlists allow you to organize courses and informal learning assets into collections that you can keep private or share with other users.
Use playlists to group related content, save resources for later, or create collections around specific topics or tasks.
Creating playlists
You can create playlists containing informal learning assets and courses.
Depending on your platform configuration, playlists can be:
- Private, visible only to you or users you invite
- Public, visible in the channels where they are published
To create a playlist:
- Open the asset or course you want to add.
- Click Add to playlist.
- Select Create new playlist.
- Enter:
- title
- description
- visibility
- channels (if available)
- Optionally, add tags to increase the playlist’s searchability in the platform’s global search
- Click Create playlist.
Notes
- Playlist visibility options may not be available, depending on the platform configuration.
- You can add up to 50 tags, with a maximum length of 32 characters each.
Viewing your playlists
To view your playlists:
- Open My channel.
- Use the Type filter and select Playlist.
The page lists all playlists you created.
Managing playlists
Open a playlist from My channel.
From the playlist page you can:
- invite users or channels to view the playlist
- edit playlist information
- add or remove content
- reorder content
- publish or unpublish the playlist
- delete the playlist
Open Part of playlist to view the playlist description, visibility, and content.
Content you do not have permission to access is listed, but its details are hidden
If you are the playlist owner, click Edit.
You can:
- edit the title
- edit the description
- edit tags
- change the visibility
- publish or unpublish the playlist
- add or remove content
- reorder content
- delete the playlist
Deleting a playlist does not delete the courses or assets included in it.
Note: if you start a playlist and land on an e-learning course where the focus mode is enabled and the course overview page is disabled, you cannot access the playlist’s edit options.
Inviting users
Click Invite to watch.
Select one or more users or channels and click Invite.
Availability of this option depends on the platform configuration.
Adding an asset to a playlist
To add an asset:
- Open the asset.
- Click Add to playlist.
- Select one or more playlists or create a new one.
- Click Add to playlist.
Only the playlist owner can modify playlist content.
Assets must already exist on the platform before they can be added to a playlist.
Please note: Questions, answers, and ratings do not apply to playlists.
Adding a course to a playlist
To add a course:
- Open the course player.
- Click Add to playlist.
- Select one or more playlists or create a new one.
- Click Add to playlist.
You can also add courses from:
- My courses and learning plans
- personal channels
- public channels
using the Add to playlist option in the course menu.
Note: Learners can see a course in your playlist only if they are enrolled in that course.
Playing a playlist
Open a playlist from My channel or from a shared channel.
Select any course or asset to start it.
Click Part of playlist to view:
- playlist description
- visibility
- list of included items
Navigate assets depending on their type: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, MPG, MP4, AVI, MOV, WEBM, 3GP, WMV, ZIP, RAR, TAR, 7z, DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT, TXT, XLS, XLSX, ODS, CSV, PPT, PPTX, ODP, PDF, MP3, FLAC, OGG, WAV.
