Introduction
In your platform, you can actively contribute to the learning experience of your company by uploading your content to channels and sharing it with your peers. You can add a screencast so that other learners in the platform can view your demos, tutorials, or other screen recording material in channels. Please note that the term “asset” is used to refer to the content published as a contribution in the platform.
This functionality is supported in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. It is not supported on Chrome OS. The screen recording app (ScreenPal - opens in a new tab) is offered in English, Portuguese, German, Spanish, French, and Italian. This language is set according to your operating system’s language, not your platform’s language.

Sharing a Screen Recording as an Asset
As a learner, you can share content by selecting the Share Content page from your main menu or by clicking on the Share Content button that you can find in the top right corner of the homepage of your platform, of the All Channels page, or of the My Channel page.
Please Note! Depending on how your Admin set up your homepage and the other pages of your platform, you may also see the Share Content widget, where you can display the content shared by you in the platform and upload and share new content.
In order to share a screen recording, on the Share Content page or widget, click on the Record your Screen area. If you clicked on the Share Content button in the top right corner of the page, select the Record your Screen button that appears below.
Please Note! Remember not to close the platform page in the browser during the recording process. Otherwise, you may lose your recording.
If it’s your first time contributing a screen recording from your device, your platform will automatically recognize that you do not have the screen recording app activated on your computer and will ask you to download the launcher to make screen recordings. Press Download Launcher to start the download.
The plugin will automatically begin downloading on your browser. Run the downloaded file to set up the recorder. Once completed, you will not need to refresh the page or log in to the platform again. Simply press the Open Screen Recorder Launcher button in the pop-up window that appears asking if you want to open the application to start your recording.
The screen recording app will appear in a pop-up, so make sure that your browser doesn’t block pop-ups from your platform.

Start your recording by pressing the Rec button in the screen recording area. Once complete, press Upload. Please note that the time it takes for the recording to be converted into a playable file in your platform depends on the size of the recording.
When the upload is complete, the Record your Screen right panel will open. Here, you can add or edit the details of your recording, such as its thumbnail, title and description. Finally, you can decide who you want to share your content with. Further and detailed information about how to configure these options.
Once configured all the options and chosen the channels and/or people you want to share your screen recording with, click on the Share button at the bottom of the panel. Your content has been shared successfully! If you click on the button in the confirmation message that appears right after you share your content, you will view the page of the asset you have just published, along with all the details you defined.
Adding a Screen Recording as an Assignment
You can also add screen recordings as assignment training material in your courses. Once you’re viewing the training material in the course player, press the Start Recording button. This button is visible only if the Screen Recording App plugin is active in the platform.
