Introduction
Docebo Companion is a Web Browser Extension (WBE) that brings relevant learning closer to where work happens. By integrating with the Docebo platform, Companion provides timely, contextual training based on the webpage you’re viewing - helping you access the right knowledge without switching tools. Alongside curated learning materials, learners can also use Harmony search to quickly find answers or discover additional resources directly from the browser. Once logged in, Companion automatically recognizes the page you’re on and surfaces the most relevant content, making continuous learning easier, faster and more natural throughout your day.
Docebo Companion is a two-part system, a set of curated pages configured as spaces and a web browser extension that is connected to your platform.
This article answers common questions about Docebo Companion, the browser extension that brings learning into the flow of work. It covers how Companion handles content visibility, learner activity tracking, login and authentication, deployment, billing and configuration.

Questions and answers
Does Companion respect learning content visibility?
Yes. Companion only shows content in spaces and search results based on each learner's content visibility settings configured in the Docebo platform.
Is all content progress tracked back in the Docebo platform?
Yes. All learner content activities, including enrollments, progress and completions, are fully synced and recorded back to the learner profile in the Docebo platform.
Who can create and manage learning spaces?
At launch, only Superadmins can create and manage learning spaces. Power User support is planned for a future release.
Does Companion support Extended Enterprise domains?
Learners can log in to and use Companion via any custom domain or Extended Enterprise domain. Currently, Companion configuration is limited to the root (main) domain. Additional Extended Enterprise support is planned for a future release.
How does Companion affect usage and billing?
When a learner consumes content via Harmony (chat), selects a search result or opens and consumes content via Companion, it triggers the user as active for that billing period. A single user is only ever triggered once across the Docebo platform, Go.Learn and Companion with no double-counting.
Example: if a user was already active via the Docebo platform and then uses Companion, nothing changes as they were already activated. If they were not already active, they become active at that point.
How does IT deploy Companion across the organization?
Deployment requires no custom development or integration. IT can distribute Companion organization-wide through standard browser management tools (such as Chrome Enterprise, Group Policy or MDM) or by sharing a direct install link from the Chrome Web Store. The process typically takes hours rather than weeks.
How does a learner log in?
Learners enter their Docebo platform URL in Companion to identify their instance. A pop-up opens to the core Docebo platform, where they authenticate using their organization's configured method (SSO, SAML or standard credentials). Once authenticated, the pop-up closes and the learner is logged in to Companion.
Does Companion require a separate login from the Docebo platform?
No. Companion and the core Docebo platform share the same bearer token. If a user is already authenticated to the platform, Companion uses the existing token and no new token is issued. Any token policies already in place, including session duration and forced re-authentication, apply to Companion automatically.
Are updates seen live?
No. Companion captures the configuration at login. For a learner to see updates made to a published learning space, they must log out and log back in.
Can Companion be pushed to all employees automatically?
Yes. IT can install it by default on everyone's browser through Google Admin Console or via MDM. This is the recommended approach for internal use cases where broad adoption is needed without requiring individual installs.
