Introduction

E-learning courses are collections of lessons (training materials) that you need to complete in order to mark the course as completed in its turn. An e-learning course can be made up of one or more lessons that you can play in sequential order or in free order, depending on the course structure.

E-learning courses are completely delivered online, do not usually involve instructors, and allow you to attend them at any time, according to the validity period set both for the course and for your enrollment.

Accessing an e-learning course

All of the courses and learning plans in which you are enrolled are listed on the My courses and learning plans page. E-learning courses are identified by the E-learning label at the bottom of the course card. Click on the course card to access it.

Playing an e-learning course

Depending on the course setup, when you click on the course card in the My courses and learning plans page, you may directly land on the course player, or on the overview page, an introductory page displayed before the player and showing various types of information about the course and your enrollment.

If the overview page is active, click Start learning now (or Resume training if you already started the course) to access the course player and start viewing the first lesson of the course. 

Otherwise, select a lesson from the course syllabus and click on Start learning now or Resume training to start playing it.

The platform will display the course in the language you selected in the My profile area, if available. Otherwise, it will propose it in the course's default language. You can change the course language at any time by clicking the language name in the course player header and selecting one of the available options.

If you change your preferred language in the My profile area after starting the course in another language, the platform will continue to propose the course in the language you originally started with, unless the course is also available in your newly selected language. In that case, the platform will inform you that the course is available in your new preferred language, and you can choose to switch to it. 

Warning. Switching languages may affect your course completion rate and could require you to restart the course from the beginning, as training materials may not be equivalent in different languages.

When you complete a lesson, click on Next lesson to continue the course.

Depending on the course settings, you may be able to navigate back by clicking on Previous lesson and/or to view a lesson again by clicking Retake lesson on the lesson completion page.

If the course has a linear structure, you have to complete the lessons in the sequence set in the syllabus. If the course is more modular, you can skip around and choose the lessons in your preferred order.

As you complete each lesson, the status of your progress in the course is tracked, so you can keep track of where you are in the course and what you still need to complete. This also allows you to stop and resume the course at any time.

Please note. For proper tracking, configure your browser not to block pop-ups, and avoid incognito windows.

Interacting with the AI sales coach

If a course includes a Creator lesson with the AI sales coach, you will interact with a virtual customer in a simulated sales conversation. Depending on how the lesson was configured, you may speak with the AI using your microphone, chat in writing, or choose your preferred mode.

At the end of the simulation, the system generates a report with key strengths, areas for improvement, and personalized suggestions. Learn more about how AI coach reports are generated. You can access this report immediately after completing the simulation and return to it at any time by reopening the lesson in the course player and clicking on Previous reports.

Completing an e-learning course

An e-learning course is marked as complete when you finish all its lessons or when an administrator manually marks it as completed.

If the course is available in multiple languages, you must complete all the non-localized lessons and localized lessons, unless the administrator disables the language you started with. In that case, you will be redirected to a different available language without losing your progress in the course.

To retake a course you have already completed, click Retake the course from either the course overview page or the main course page.

When you retake a completed e-learning course:

• Its completion status remains Completed.
• If the course includes training materials with a score, your latest score is retained.

The course player page

On the course page, the course player is in the middle of the page or occupies the whole page (depending on platform settings) and its appearance can be in dark or light mode.

The Syllabus area on the left of the page shows the list of the lessons composing the course. Lessons are identified by a thumbnail, a title, and the file type. Some types of training material, such as SCORM or xAPI, may include multiple syllabus entries. Lessons can be organized in folders.

If the thumbnail displays the label Locked, it means that the lesson has prerequisites, meaning that to start that lesson, you must complete other lessons first.

To maximize the area of the course player, close the syllabus by clicking on the Close course syllabus button at the top of the Syllabus area. You can reopen it at any time by clicking Show course syllabus.

To maximize the view even more, click on Expand view in the top right corner of the course player area. Click on Collapse view to go back to the default view mode.

Actions

Depending on the course settings, you may be able to perform the following actions from the top right area of the course page:

• Share the course on social media: Use the Share button to:
  • get the course URL so that you can share it with other users
  • share the course details, and optionally your score, on social media (X/formerly Twitter and/or LinkedIn)
• Rate the course. Use the Rate now button to provide a rating of the course from 1 to 5 stars. Take the time to provide your feedback on the course, as it can be helpful for other users, including instructors and Administrators.
• Add the course to a playlist. Use the Add to playlist button to add the course to an existing playlist or to a new playlist. More information on playlists.
• Inform that the course is no longer up to date. Use the Mark as outdated button to identify the course as no longer up to date, and notify the Administrator about that.

Widgets

The course page may display one or more widgets under the course player, depending on how the course is configured. Available widgets include:

• Description. Shows the course description, if any.
• Course details. Shows extra information about the course that may or may not display depending on how the Administrator configured the course, such as:
  • the course code
  • the average completion time
  • the number of days left to complete the course
  • the number of credits (CEUs) you’ll earn by completing the course
  • if the course is verified via e-signature
  • if the course comes from external content providers
• Forum. Use this area to discuss the course topics with other learners and ask questions to the instructors.
• Comments. Leave comments on the course topics.
• Repository. Use this area to download files made available by the instructors, as well as to upload the files you want to share with other users.
• Instructors. Displays contact information for the instructors of the course.
• Questions and answers. Use this area to ask questions to the course experts, and to check the questions and answers posted by other users.
