Introduction
Docebo follows a structured release cycle to deliver new features, enhancements, and fixes in a predictable and continuous manner. This process ensures that updates are tested, documented, and communicated clearly and in a timely manner, so that you can adapt your workflows and take full advantage of the latest improvements.
In this article, you will learn:
- How updates are planned and delivered.
- How and when information about releases is communicated.
- Where to find detailed documentation about each release.
By understanding the release cycle, you can stay informed, plan effectively, and make the most of Docebo’s continuously improving platform.
Planning
The Docebo Product team is organized into specialized teams, each responsible for one or more areas of the platform. These teams plan and prioritize developments for major releases based on:
- Market needs and trends
- Known issues reported by customers or internal teams
- Ideas and suggestions submitted in the Share Your Ideas page of the Docebo Community
This approach ensures that new features and improvements are aligned with customer needs and platform evolution.
Development and tests
Once developments are included in the roadmap, each team organizes its work into sprints. Coding tasks are assigned based on team members’ areas of specialization, such as front-end or back-end development, and all code is reviewed by a senior developer before moving to testing. Quality Engineers then verify the code using both manual and automated tests to ensure reliability and functionality.
Each sprint lasts two weeks, starting on Monday and concluding on the Friday morning of the second week. Friday afternoons of the second week are dedicated to sprint retrospectives, where teams review the previous sprint to identify successes and areas for improvement, followed by sprint planning to prepare and prioritize tasks for the upcoming sprint.
Deployment
The deployment of new and updated features is carried out through a structured cadence of quarterly, monthly, and weekly updates. Each type of release serves a distinct purpose in balancing rapid development with reliable user experience, giving you time to test, adapt, and benefit from improvements without disruption.

Quarterly primary releases
Quarterly releases include most of the platform’s core feature updates, that is, new functionalities that may impact your workflows. These updates are released to sandboxes eight weeks before their production release, giving you enough time to test them and prepare your production environment.
The quarterly release cycle is divided into the following phases:
- Internal roll-out: Updates are released on Docebo’s internal platforms ten weeks before they become publicly available, and two weeks before their deployment on customer sandboxes. During this phase, all Docebians can test and explore the new or updated functionalities, provide feedback, and report bugs so development teams can address them before the external release. This phase also helps Docebo employees become familiar with the new features and provide more effective support.
-
Sandbox release: Customer sandboxes are updated two weeks after the internal roll-out and eight weeks before general availability. This phase allows you to explore the upcoming updates, test new functionalities, and prepare your production environment accordingly.
Tip. Docebo knowledge base articles are updated for the sandbox release and display the Sandbox release disclaimer at the top. New and updated chapters are highlighted with the New! and Updated! tags next to their titles.
- General availability: Eight weeks after the sandbox release, the new features and updates are deployed to all customers’ production platforms, completing the quarterly release cycle.
Monthly momentum releases
Once a month, outside the quarterly release windows, Docebo dedicates a day to the release of new features or updates that have a low impact on your workflows. Only a small percentage of features follow this cadence.
These updates group minor enhancements and optimizations into a single, predictable release window each month.
Weekly maintenance releases
Production platforms are updated every week. These updates include fixes and minor adjustments to existing features. Deployments are rolled out on different days depending on the customer segment: Mondays for Docebo internal platforms and small to medium enterprises, the following Wednesday for Enterprise customers, and the Wednesday of the following week for large customers.
The deployment process does not require any downtime.
Communicating changes
When we release any updates that may disrupt your existing processes or integrations, such as changes to existing functionality, feature removal, or modifications to APIs, we follow a structured communication process to give you enough time to prepare and adapt:
- Changes to existing functionalities (both impacting the user interface or APIs) are communicated in the Product updates page of the Docebo knowledge base three months before they are deployed. They are included in the Heads up! section of the weekly changelog. If the change is particularly important, the pre-communication may happen even before the three-month period, and is repeated over time. The change is also announced at release time.
- Deprecations (for features, integrations, and APIs) are pre-communicated six months in advance via the Product updates page of the Docebo knowledge base, in the Heads up! section of the weekly changelog. At deprecation time, the feature, integration, or API is dismissed and permanently removed.
