Introduction
As the platform evolves, certain features or integrations may no longer serve their intended purpose or may be replaced by more efficient alternatives. This process, known as deprecation, involves phasing out these features to enhance user experience. Deprecation is a vital part of software lifecycle management, ensuring that the system remains modern, secure, and performant.
This article aims to provide comprehensive information about features and integrations that have been deprecated or are planned for deprecation so that you can get ready for the updates, minimize disruptions, and take advantage of improved functionalities.
Why do features and integrations get deprecated?
There are several reasons why a feature or an integration is deprecated, including:
- Technological advancement: New technologies or methodologies offer better solutions.
- Security enhancements: Older features and integrations may present security vulnerabilities that are addressed by newer implementations.
- Performance improvements: Streamlining the software by removing outdated features and integrations can lead to significant performance gains.
- User feedback: Features and integrations that are seldom used or have negative feedback may be removed to focus resources on more valued functionalities.
List of deprecations
This chapter lists the features and the integrations that have been deprecated or are planned for deprecation. Consider the following definitions before reading:
- End of maintenance and support: After this date, the development teams will not fix any defects or other issues related to the feature or integration. Docebo’s Help Desk or Customer success team may offer temporary solutions, but no defects will be opened or escalated to the product team. However, the feature or integration is still accessible and usable in its current state.
- End of life: Once an integration reaches its End of Life date, it is no longer accessible or usable by Superadmins, Power Users, and learners.
