As a Superadmin or a Power User with granted permissions, you can add training material from the Central Repository to courses, making sure that all learners have access to the same up-to-date and consistent content, which helps to maintain high standards of training.

- Instructors cannot assign training material coming from the Central repository to courses.
Adding Training Material from the Central Repository in a Course
Log into your platform as the Superadmin or Power User and access the Admin Menu from the gear icon in the top right corner. In the E-Learning section, select the Course Management item, find the course in which you want to add training material from the Central Repository, click on its description and move to the Training Material tab.
Click on the Add Training Material button, then select the Central Repository option from the dropdown menu. This action opens a pop-up box listing all of the training materials stored in the Central Repository.
Select the training materials you wish to add to the course using the checkboxes next to their title and click on Confirm to complete the action. You can filter the training materials by type using the Filter by Type dropdown or browse the folders in which content is organized in the Central Repository by selecting them in the left panel of the pop-up.
If a training material has more than one version when you select it, a dropdown listing all its versions is displayed next to its title so that you can select the version you want to add to the course. Remember that you can add only one version of the same training material to the course.
If you add the same training material to multiple courses, remember that its tracking is shared among them: when a user completes the training material in one course, it will automatically be marked as complete in the other courses where it is placed.
Unlinking Central Repository Training Materials from Courses
To unlink a training material coming from the Central Repository from a course, access the Course Management area from the Admin Menu, select the course and move to the Training Material tab. Click on the menu icon at the end of the row of the training material you wish to unlink and select Unlink.
When you unlink the training material from a course, it will no longer be available in the course but will still be kept in the Central Repository. If the training material is linked to other courses, the tracking of the users who have completed the training material will be kept. If you unlink the training material from all courses, the tracking of the training material will be lost. In this case, users who have previously completed the material will need to complete it again if it is later linked to another course in which they are enrolled.
If a learner has completed a course including training material coming from the Central Repository when you unlink the training material, the course completion is kept but the statistics on the unlinked training material will no longer be available in the Course Report. If the learner has not completed the unlinked training material, the best practice is to select Set the course as completed for all users who have finished all other training materials option in the Unlink confirmation pop-up box. This will ensure the course reports for user statistics retain a completed status for the course.
