Introduction
A badge is like a medal your users will gain every time they complete a particular action in the platform. Badges usually have points that are given to the user along with the badge, and points can be turned into coins to use in the Rewards shop.
Badges can be awarded manually or automatically when specific conditions are met. Refer to the dedicated article of the knowledge base to learn more on how to assign badges.
This article lists the events that Superadmins can associate with the automatic assignment of badges.
Events for the automatic assignment of badges
General badges
- User completed a course
- User completed a training material
- User completed a learning plan
- User posted a reply on a forum course discussion
- User started a new discussion in a forum
- User clicked Helpful on a forum reply
- User clicked Rate on a forum reply
Discover, Coach & Share badges
- User asked a question
- User's answer received like
- User's answer received dislike
- User's answer was marked as best answer

- Contributor's asset was viewed (number of views)
- User watched an asset (duration)

User completed a course

| Configuration |
Select whether it applies to any course, any of a selection of courses, all of a selection of courses, or after completing a certain number of courses or of courses from a selection. When you select a certain selection of courses (second, third, and fifth option), you will then need to specify which courses you would like to link to the badge. If you select the fourth or the fifth option, you will need to indicate after how many completed courses the learner will receive the badge. |

User completed a training material

| Configuration |
Select a course and a specific training material from the course. For some types of training material it is necessary to specify the minimum or maximum score that the learner must achieve on completion of the training material. If the specified training material is not associated with a score, we recommend selecting the Assign badge only if the score is under option and entering any number in the corresponding field. Otherwise, the badge will not be automatically assigned because the minimum score has not been achieved. |

The badge can only be associated with a single training material. You will need to create a new badge if you want to apply this type of badge to multiple training materials. If the user is unenrolled and re-enrolled in the related course after achieving the badge, they will earn the badge again every time they complete the training material again. |
User completed a learning plan

If you select the "Any of the selected courses" option, please note that the badge is assigned, only once, when the required number of replies is reached. The replies increasing the counter can be posted in any of the courses included in the courses selection of the "Any of the selected courses" option. For example, if you set the value "5" in the field, and a user posts 1 reply on a course forum, then 4 replies on another course's forum, the user earns the badge. Then, if they post other replies, they won't receive other badges. |
User started a new discussion in a forum
