Introduction
The data synchronization between Salesforce and Docebo is a daily process, and configuring dedicated notifications can help in monitoring this activity. This article is a guide to the available notifications, and to how to configure them. Please note that Salesforce notifications are part of the Salesforce integration, and they are not managed by the Docebo Notification App. Notifications are a summary of the synchronization process, they do not provide details about the errors occurred. Please refer to the Logs section for detailed information on synchronization errors.
Enabling Notifications for the Synchronization Process
Access the Admin Menu from the gear icon, find the Salesforce section, and press Manage. Move to the Notifications tab. This area lists the available notifications for Salesforce. First, in the Recipients area, type the email addresses of the people you would like to notify. You can add up to ten recipients. We suggest using distribution lists to notify more users at a time. Please note that both internal and external email addresses (email addresses of users not registered in the LMS ) can be added in this area. Since users will be notified via email, make sure your users have a valid email address associated to their accounts before setting up a notification system. Please note that the recipients will receive all the notifications enabled in the Events area, it is not possible to send different notifications to different recipients. The email is sent by the Docebo Superadmin email address. In the Events area, activate the notifications by switching on the corresponding toggle:
– Synchronization Error. Notifies recipients every time there is an error in the sync process between Salesforce and your LMS. The notification includes the platform name, the error timestamp and the error details.
– Imported Users Summary. Every time a scheduled import of Salesforce users is completed, notifies recipients of the total number of created or updated users. The notification includes the platform name, the event timestamp, the number of new and updated users, and the number of errors occurred during the synchronization. The notification is structured as follows:
– Imported Contacts Summary. Every time a scheduled import of Salesforce contacts is completed, notifies recipients of the total number of created or updated contacts.
