Introduction
Connect Google Drive so files in Shared Drives become searchable knowledge in Docebo.
This connector syncs files from Shared Drives that the connecting account has access to into Docebo Knowledge. It only covers Drive file content, not other Google Workspace apps.
1. Basic information
What content gets synced
| Content type | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Files in Shared Drives the connected account belongs to or has access to | Synced | Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs, and other supported types |
| Files in My Drive (personal drives) | Not synced | Out of scope, even if individually shared with the connecting account — see note below |
| Gmail, Calendar, Google Sites, and other Workspace apps | Not synced | Out of scope for this connector |
| Trashed files | Not synced | |
| Google Forms responses | Not synced |
What content gets extracted
| Content | Status |
|---|---|
| Text content of Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDFs | Extracted |
| Title, owner, folder path, last modified date | Extracted |
| Embedded images and charts | Not extracted |
| Comments and suggestions | Not extracted |
| Revision history | Not extracted |
This connector only syncs Shared Drives — it does not read the connecting account's personal My Drive. Files shared directly with that account at the file level, rather than living in a Shared Drive, are out of scope. To sync them, move or add them to a Shared Drive the account has access to.
2. Prerequisites in the source system
Required role
The Google Workspace account used to authorize this connector needs admin rights covering Users, Groups, and Domains (typically a Workspace admin). The connector requests read-only Admin Directory scopes alongside Drive access, and those API calls fail for a non-admin account even when the consent screen itself goes through.
Required settings
Both the Google Drive API and the Admin SDK API need to be enabled on the Google Cloud project — the Admin Directory scopes won't appear in the scope picker otherwise.
The connecting account must be a member of, or have access to, every Shared Drive you want to sync.
3. Preparation in the source system
Enable the Drive API
Go to the Google Drive API page in the Google Cloud Marketplace, and select Enable for your project.

Open Credentials
From the Drive API page, select Manage. In the left sidebar of the page that opens, select Credentials.

Create the OAuth Client ID
On the Credentials page, select + Create credentials → OAuth client ID, choose Web application, and add your redirect URI under Authorized redirect URIs. It always follows this pattern: https://[YOUR-DOCEBO-PLATFORM-URL]/knowledge/v1/integrations/connections/callback — for example, https://demo.docebosaas.com/knowledge/v1/integrations/connections/callback.

Save, then select + Add secret to generate a client secret. Copy both the Client ID and the Client secret — the secret is only shown once.

Add the required scopes
In the left sidebar, select Data Access, then select Add or remove scopes. Paste the scopes below into the Manually add scopes box, select Add to table, then Save.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.activity.readonly

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.group.readonly
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile
| Scope | What it allows |
|---|---|
| drive.readonly | See and download all your Google Drive files |
| drive.activity.readonly | View the activity record of files in your Google Drive |
| admin.directory.user.readonly | See info about users on your domain |

| admin.directory.group.readonly | View groups on your domain |
| userinfo.email | See your primary Google Account email address |

The Admin Directory scopes above only appear here once the Admin SDK API is enabled on this project, in addition to the Drive API.
