Introduction
Your Docebo learning platform integrates with Lectora®, an E-Learning authoring tool used to create online training courses, assessments, and presentations. This integration allows you to skip several tedious steps when publishing content on your platform.
Activating Lectora® in Docebo
Activate the Lectora® app as described in the Managing Apps & Features article of the Knowledge Base. The app is listed in the Third Party Integrations tab.
Once this app is activated, a PENS connection will automatically be configured without you needing to do any additional configuration. Docebo's PENS (Package Exchange Notification System) App streamlines the development and publishing process for authoring courses. PENS is a standard that provides a protocol for authoring tools to directly send courses packages to an LMS.
Please note that you must activate this app if you want to integrate any authoring tool with your platform. This means that any authoring tool in which you would like to integrate with Docebo MUST support the PENS protocol.
Configuring Lectora® in Docebo
To begin the configuration, access the Admin Menu, then find the Lectora® section and press the Manage subitem. On the management page, add your Lectora® Online platform URL in the corresponding text box. Your platform URL should be https://eu.lectoraonline.com/app/, but please note it will change depending on the region from which you are using the platform. For example, United States customers would use https://us.lectoraonline.com/app/.
Select the destination category for Lectora® objects that will land in the Central Repository from the dropdown menu, then review your account information. When you’re finished, press Save Changes. Now, you need to copy your account information into Lectora® to complete the integration. Log into your Lectora® platform as the Admin. Then, on the left side of the page, select the Organization Settings item under the Administration section.
Then, find the Property and Value Section. In the Property column, find the following rows:
- Publish to Docebo: Server URL
- Publish to Docebo: Username
- Publish to Docebo: Password
In each of these rows, you need to add the corresponding values in the Value row. This information is the account information that you saw on the management page for the app on your platform. When you've entered the information in the Value row, press Save. Your Lectora® Online Account has now been configured with your platform. After you've completed the integration, it's important to know that a PENS Standard configuration automatically took place in the background. You can view this configuration by going to the Admin Menu, then selecting the Advanced Settings item.
On the Advanced Settings page, select the PENS tab. On the PENS page, you will see the app has been added to the list of applications. You do not have the option to edit or delete this configuration.
Publishing Lectora® Content in Docebo
Once Lectora® has been configured properly, you can begin uploading Lectora® content into Docebo. You must do so from the Central Repository. You cannot upload Lectora® content directly into courses. To start, reach the Admin Menu, then click on the Central Repository item.
Then, on the main page of the Central Repository, press the Add Training Material button and select Lectora® from the dropdown menu. You will then be redirected to your Lectora® platform. Log into your Lectora® account, then find the item you wish to publish on your platform. When you click on the content to open it, find the Publish button in the top right corner.
Confirm all of the information in the pop-up box, then press OK when you’re ready. The content has now been copied into your platform. You will find it in your Central Repository. Learn how to push items from the Central Repository to specific courses.
